ABOUT IJAR

The Iranian Journal of Anthropological Research (IJAR) started publication in the summer of 2010. IJAR (ISSN: 8193-2251) is a Persian-language, peer-reviewed journal officially recognized by Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology under the category “scientific research.” It is the only academic anthropology journal of the University of Tehran and one of a few published in the country. Focusing on contemporary Iran and its social and cultural issues, the journal aims to help develop the field of anthropology across all its branches and promote scientific methods of in-depth anthropological analyses. It further strives to promote collaboration among Iranian and international scholars and academic institutions. All interactions with the journal—including paper submission, tracking, and review—are handled online.
