GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING PAPERS TO IJAR

IJAR accepts academic papers and reviews across sub-disciplines of anthropological analysis—focusing on biology, archeology and history, linguistics, or culture—for publication following a peer review process. The peer review process for each paper takes between 3 to 6 months and includes the following steps:

-      The paper is registered with the name(s) and academic position(s) of its author(s) on the journal’s website (ijar.ut.ac.ir).

-      The paper will undergo an initial review by the editor who may decide to continue with the review process or reject the paper based on its:

a)      Non-relevance to anthropological research;

b)      Obvious and serious problems in content or methodology.

-      Authors whose papers are rejected at this initial stage have the right to send an official protest to the Editorial Board which may reverse the original decision.

-      If accepted for the peer review process, each paper will be reviewed by 2 qualified scholars designated by the Editorial Board. Each reviewer will fill out the standard IJAR Peer Review Form.

-      Authors will be informed of the journal’s final decisions on their papers based on the reviewed conducted by the referees. They may be asked to make certain corrections to their papers or revise and resubmit their papers.

-      Once a paper is accepted for publication by IJAR, it will through a round of editing by the journal which may require additional corrections and activities by its author(s)—e.g., final editing of the paper in terms of structure and language.

-      Publication of accepted papers will require a fee paid by its author(s) to cover the journal’s costs. Authors will be duly informed of the amount.

-      Authors of accepted papers will be contacted for copyright and acceptance procedures.

-      Each paper written in Persian will also require an English abstract.

-      The final step will be the publication of the paper online and in printed form. Printed copies will be made available to the authors.
