Between the Khuzestan Bakhtarian tribe as a branch of Lor tribes, this art was public. Considering the cultural origin of each tribe, the Tattoo of the Bakhtarin women settled in Khuzestan is a manifestation of the culture and civilization that highlights their beliefs in the form of pictures on their bodies. The present study is an attempt to evaluate what cultural concepts have tattoo motifs of Khuzestan Bakhtarian women represented through the anthropological and cultural semiotic approach. The data collection process in this descriptive-analytic study is done through interviews and field observation in addition to library sources. The aim of this study investigating the inscription on the bodies of Khuzestan Bakhtarian women, their meaning, and also the effect of their culture, beliefs, and religion through Lotman’s (1984) cultural semiotics. The results of this study show that the tattoos of the Bakhtarian women are used for various reasons such as decorating themselves and confronting the supernatural forces as well as protecting pregnant women from “Al”. Abstract motifs such as animals, plants, ornaments, and in some human patterns are striking. Some of the motifs including The sun, star, rood, crux, Jinn believing,… are symbolic and have a long presence in the ancient and Bakhtiari culture.
