Abstract:
Emotions are an inescapable and undeniable part of human beings. Due to this importance, many theorists including anthropologists and sociologists have formulated different theories on the source of emotions. Some focus on the biologic base of of emotions while others emphasize on the socio cultural factors in both shaping and appearing of them (H. Turner 2016:1) Those who subscribe to the social source of emotions including Susan Schutz, consider “interaction” as the basis of emotions. They believe emotions are shaped and trained through the social interactions in the places such as home,, school, work place, etc.
Although, the manifestation of emotions based on social context may very by individuals. For instance, an individual might feel depression or sadness caused by distance or separation from loved ones through the internalized socialization process.
Because of the importance of emotions in every human’s cognitive process, thoughts and behavior and the fact that home environment is one of the most important grounds in the birth or the cultivation of emotions, this research aims to study how women’s emotions emerge and manifest at the domestic space.
